For this statement-making necklace from Yoko Shimizu’s Transformations series, the artist began with irregular rectangular shaped wooden forms before transforming them in resin. The resultant necklace shows details of the original wood, but seems to glow with light like colored glass and despite its size is surprisingly light and easy to wear. Long enough to slip over the head, this necklace has a short handmade chain of oxidized silver to be worn at the back of the neck and one rectangular element made from oxidized copper.
