The vesica pisces mala* is from a series entitled Cartography of the Liminal, and is inspired by my own recent shamanic journeys into the unseen realms over the course of 4 months. Memories of these internal voyages carry the intangible yet indelible talismanic power of intention, which I attempted to transfer physically to these three strands of prayer beads. The term vesica pisces has many interwoven facets of meaning: the harmonious simplicity of two overlapping and intersecting spheres which is an ancient form of sacred geometry that is the root of the Tree of Life; place of all potential; birth portal (which we are in right now); the spiritual intersecting the physical, masculine intersecting the feminine-dualities that also create a third space.
Rather than being an amulet in the form of a static object, the malas in this series become an ever-shifting talismanic journey tool, a dream weaver, a wearable oracle card deck, supporting you in strengthening your relationship with yourself and the universe. They are multi-dimensional amulets, assisting on a physical, spiritual, emotional, psychic, imaginal and collective level.
